Scribble It.

We made some scribble drawings this morning.

If you've never done it, it's simple.  Place a pencil to paper, and without lifting it from the page, make one long, loose and free continuous doodle, filling as much of the page as you'd like.

Then stand back and take a look.  What do you see?  Turn the page to look from all four angles.  Have someone else take a look too.  It's like finding shapes in the clouds.  When you see something, outline it.

Hudson found a fish.

Then, do whatever you want with it.  Paint it, remove it and place it on another background, etc.

This technique is great for kids but also for people like me who have zero confidence in drawing.  I have a very hard time letting go and just doing it.  This is good practice and results in lots of lovely organic shapes.
