You know, she's never had a haircut. Five and a half years, and not one single haircut, not even a tiny snip as a baby, not a little trim, nothing. It's never been done. And so obviously, I have a few reservations about it- not that it might hurt, or that she would be afraid, or that it wouldn't maybe even look a little better with a little layering...it's just that I'm holding her back.
From losing those last pieces of babyness that must be in there somewhere, that have been there from the beginning. There might still be some of those very firsts in there. And I don't want to lose them.
Yet.
So I'm letting it get just a little longer, for a little longer, because I'm just not sure if I can take it.
Someday, but not yet.

I am so with you on that. Hannah is just two and a little bit, and I haven't cute her hair yet either. She has the sweetest curls and I don't want to chop them off!
wouldn't cut it either, it is far too beautiful!
It's beautiful!
And I can't wait to see about the paint!
Oh my gosh, her hair is so beautiful! Don't cut it! Let her begin complaining about it herself before you even consider it ;)
I cried for days when my boys had their first hair cuts. I couldn't help thinking the same way you are- all those baby hairs were there when they were first born....and then they were gone! *sob* It's hard to see them growing up sometimes.
her hair really is beautiful. a hair model in your future?
I didn't cut Goosey's hair until she was almost 3, but Lulu....those unrulely curls may need taming at some point. And I will cry like a baby when that day comes!!!
I have enjoyed reading your blog. I just started homeschool with my daughter, and we are having a great time! She has long hair too. Although I have trimmed her ends...but only a smidge!
Awww! that's the cutest reason I've ever heard not to cut hair. Don't cut it! It's beautiful!
Oh! I don't think I would ever be able to cut that hair either. It is way too beautiful!
