ok, ok- i am not that creative. i should have mentioned that i've seen this idea for years in martha, real simple, random tv, etc etc. i'm sure it was martha's idea first- but i can't remember where i was first inspired to do it. but i know for SURE the first inspiration was NOT in my own noggin!

It is beautiful! I love the fall-ness of it all!
I do not have a marigold smell appreciation either but I can understand wanting to enjoy the last flowers... I always felt like shedding more than a few tears when my fall mums would die when we lived in Vermont. I really knew it was over when they kicked the bucket.
We still have roses in the bud stage down here... It is SO strange for me!

and is it sick that I like the smell of marigolds? We used to have a ton in the garden when I was a kid so the smell takes me back.

I'm with you on the smell of the marigolds. I guess that's why they say to plant them around the edges of your garden to keep the pesky critters away!
