***Here's the video I wanted to post a few weeks ago. I wrote this post December 13... December was a little busy for us so we didn't get the software/hardware we needed until Sunday. (We bought our camera just before they started adding a USB connection, so it takes a couple of extra steps.) So, if you were missing Christmastime already, here's a seriously late Christmas post.***
We received a set of Adornaments last year and I was excited to get them out this Christmas. There are 12 ornaments, and each one teaches a name for Jesus. There's a companion book that has a devotion you can read for each day, and the ornaments themselves open up with a shorter version of what the book says. Here's a picture of the Lion of Judah. Although geared toward grade-school aged children, it's a great thing for preschoolers too- and I think it's cute to hear their explanations of what each name means, according to what they can understand right now. They'll learn more and more about them each year, I'm sure. Children absorb things so quickly- all we did was read about a new name each day and the next day we'd review all the names we'd already learned before going on to the next one. By day 12 they knew them all. They get so excited when they hear a name for Jesus on the radio etc. now- "Mommy! They called Jesus our Savior!" etc... I don't think FamilyLife sells these anymore, but I'm sure you can find them on eBay or Amazon.
Here's the video, a little long, but cute. They're really excited to share it with all of you on the Internet, so, here it is! Merry Christmas!
