The girls and I did a little fall decorating today. Hudson pretty much just slept through it all. We started by going outside to collect some leaves and pinecones (both of which are covering our lawn, so I thought it would be fun to bring a little of the outside in). We filled the bowl on our coffee table with them. Then, I made my first pumpkin spice pot of the year. If you've never made one, all you need to do is clean out a pie pumpkin, then carve out a decoration etc. in it. Then rub pumpkin pie spice (or cloves, cinnamon, and ginger) in the inside. Light a candle, and within minutes, it really does fill your house with the smell of a baking pumpkin pie. I hesitated to even post a picture of the one I made today, because it is by far the least-creative one I've ever made, but, it smells great! As I was making it, I remembered the first time I made one. I was pregnant with Grace, thinking about how much fun it would be to make one every year with my kids. I was right- it's pretty fun.
